Salvation to Surrender:
A Journey of Redemption
Surrender is often misunderstood. Many people believe in God, yet still struggle to experience true peace, freedom, and rest. These reflections were written during a personal journey of discovering the difference between belief and surrender—and how that turning point can transform a life.

August 06, 2021: God Is Molding Us into the Image of His Son. The Question is: Do We Allow Him To?
Over the years as I have been growing as a Christian, I have come to learn a very important lesson in my life: I cannot fight God for "His will" for my life. I can choose to be miserable and constantly try and make my own decisions for my life, or come to complete and "absolute surrender" to Him and live in harmony with Him. Once we have chosen to place our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, as Lord of our lives, we have become children of God, and have given Him the permission

August 04, 2021: To Begin to Live in Christ We Must Be Willing to Die to Our Own "Self-Will" Daily.
I have enjoyed reading the Book of Romans over the years of my Christian walk, especially Chapter 7. This chapter brings out in the open to why "sin" continually over-powers our life on a continual basis. Chapter 7 addresses the Law of God and the purpose of the Law..."Apart from the law sin was dead", (v. 8). It was because of the Law, that sin was made alive in me. Apart from it, I did not know sin. Romans 7: 7-8 (NKJV) What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not!

August 02, 2021: Upon Our Confession of Jesus Christ as Our Savior, We Became the Children of God.
In the Book of Galatians, the Apostle Paul, speaks to the Galatians about their adoption as children of God because they have put their faith in Jesus Christ. Paul also tells the Galatian believers, in Jesus, that because they have been adopted as sons, they’ve also been given the Spirit of His Son to live in their hearts. Galatians 3: 26-27 (NKJV) For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

July 30, 2021: The Beatitudes of Jesus Gives Everyone Great Comfort for Those Who Will Live by Them.
In reading the Book of Matthew in Chapter 5, Jesus began to teach a multitude of people, along with His disciples, the meaning of life. His teaching is famously known as, "The Beatitudes". It is in His teaching that we can find the true meaning of life in this forever changing dark world we live in. Matthew 5: 1-5 (NKJV) And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: 3

July 28, 2021: How Can We Trust God in Our Times of Sorrows? It All Comes Down to Our Perspective.
As I was reading in "Our Daily Bread", I was reminded that we all face sorrow in our lifetime. Whether it's losing a loved one, sever sickness, financial ruin, and so much more. It all comes down to "our perspective" in how we will go through the circumstances. The Apostle Paul writes about this very thing in the Book of 2 Timothy. 2 Timothy 1:7-9 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 8 Therefore do not be ashamed of t

July 23, 2021: God Will Give Us the Desires of Our Heart If We Are Willing to Listen to His Calling.
In the Book of Philippians, chapter 2, the Apostle Paul calls us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Many people have taken this verse out of content and believe that we must "work out" our salvation by doing good works for God. This is totally incorrect. The Apostle Paul is stating that we must be willing to do the will of God in fear, or in awe, and/or reverence to Him. We must be willing to be in "submission" to the Holy Spirit in our lives so that God can d

July 21, 2021: "If We Confess Our Sins, He is Faithful and Just to Forgive Our Sins and Cleans Us"!
The bible verse of 1 John 1:9, is a verse I remember memorizing as one of my first verses of the bible. This verse is so vital in a Christian's walk with the Lord. To know that all we need to do is come before God and confess our sins to Him, and He will cleans us from all our unrighteousness. 1 John 1: 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we confess our sins, what we are doing is agreeing wi

July 14, 2021: Choosing "Self-Will" Over "God's Will" Can Be Dangerous and Devastating to Ourselves.
Every day of our lives, we make many choices; from which job to work at, whom will I love, whom shall I trust, what friends shall I have in life and so on. All these choices influence our lives, whether small or big. Some can create small annoyances, and others can create great disasters. And after those choices are made, there is no turning back...the damage has been done...and the devastation is irreversible, on ourselves and others. When it comes to speaking and making the

July 12, 2021: Death Has Been Conquered Through the Blood of the Lamb. We No Longer Have to Fear It.
The thought of dying and death is a fear most people think about as we get older. Even as Christians, we can tend to fear death, but we have no reason to. Death for the Christian becomes the doorway into eternity. Our time here on earth ends and our time in heaven begins with our beloved Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ...and with those family and friends who died previously and have accepted Jesus as their Lord into their hearts. For most people, without the Lord Jesus in their

July 09, 2021: Our Life is A Gift from God. Let's Not Take for Granted This Gift by Questioning Him.
As I come to the last few chapters of the Book of Job, I am reminded of how often we want to question God as to "why" we go through certain trials and struggles in our life. Through over 30 chapters, Job's friends, and Job himself, question God and/or accused Job of his character. His friends assured Job that he must be in sin to be suffering such a great trial. Then finally, God shows up at the scene. At first, God questions Job as to; "who is he" to question God for what H

Our God is a jealous God. He does not want only parts of our lives; He wants all of us. When I came to accept Jesus into my heart, my life, I invited Him in as my Savior, and I thought as my Lord as well. But as my relationship with my Lord grew, I came to realize that I gave Him control of only certain rooms of my life. I wanted to control those other areas of my life. As I came to realize that I still had control of these other areas, God never forced me to give them up. He

July 05, 2021: A Pure Heart Before God Should Be Our Cry to Him. Are We Truly Seeking That with God?
As "New-Born Christians", we turned to God because of the wretched and ugly sinfulness that was in our lives. But now as we grow as new believers in Christ, our cry and petition before God, should be a desire of holiness and a pleasing life before Him. But as the weeks, months and years move forward, we find ourselves constantly struggling with our sinful nature that is so part of our lives. What does a Christian brother or sister do with this battle that continually plagues

Despite David's sin of adulty and then murder of Uriah, Bathsheba husband, David repented of his sin and humbled himself before his God, and God restored his relationship to Himself. The setting was when he was in the wilderness (v. 1) and a king (v. 11). Most likely, the occasion is when David was on the run in the wilderness from his rebellious son, Absalom (2 Samuel 15: 1-19: 15). Even though he was in an unimaginable situation, David expressed hope in God’s protection: “Because you are my help, I sing

When we, as Christians, finally come to recognize that we cannot begin to walk a "Christian life" before our God, without being "absolutely surrendered", is only the beginning of our challenging difficult journey of life. The challenge remains within us. We are in constant battle with our Lord and God in trying to take back the reins of our lives. In his book, "Absolute Surrender", Andrew Murray, writes about this very issue of our surrender to God. He states the following: C
